Grounded 2 Is Now Available – Time to Shrink Down and Ride a Spider

It’s official – Grounded 2 is now available and it’s already buzzing (pun intended). Obsidian’s backyard survival sequel launched today, July 29, in Early Access on both Xbox Game Pass and Steam. If you liked the first Grounded, you’re in for a much bigger and weirder ride this time around.

This isn’t just a basic sequel. Grounded 2 throws you into Brookhollow Park, a massive new open area that makes the original game’s backyard look tiny. You can now ride bugs—yes, really. From speedy ants to nightmare-fuel spiders, the new “Buggies” mechanic lets you explore, escape, and battle in brand-new ways. Pair that with better base-building, deeper crafting, full RPG progression, and some serious visual upgrades, and you’ve got a game that feels much more evolved.

The game is available right now for Xbox Series X|S, cloud via Game Pass Ultimate, and PC via Steam. There’s no word yet on a PlayStation or Switch version, but the devs haven’t ruled it out. If you played the first Grounded, you’ll feel right at home—but with a lot more to discover.

Early feedback is already rolling in. On Steam, the game quickly passed the original’s peak player count within the first hour. Players are loving the buggies, the expanded zones, and the smoother gameplay. Sure, it’s still Early Access—so expect the occasional bug (the bad kind)—but overall, the hype seems justified.

So yeah, Grounded 2 is live, it’s chaotic, creative, and crawling with potential. Time to shrink down, build a base, ride a beetle, and hope you don’t run into a praying mantis the size of a horse. Let’s go.
